Chaser - Privacy Policy

Effective Date: March 10, 2026

Chaser is a cocktail recipe app for iOS. This policy explains what data is and is not collected when you use Chaser, and how it is handled.

Chaser does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information. There are no accounts, no profiles, no tracking, and no advertising.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

Chaser does not collect:

  • Your name, email address, or any contact information
  • Your location
  • Browsing or search history within the app
  • Any financial or payment information
  • Any data tied to your identity
  • The app contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising frameworks, and no third-party tracking of any kind.

2. Your Recipe Library — iCloud Sync (CloudKit)

If you have iCloud enabled on your device, Chaser uses Apple's CloudKit framework (via SwiftData) to sync your personal cocktail recipe library across your devices.

Important details about this sync:

  • Your recipe data is stored exclusively in your own private iCloud account, not on any server we own or operate.
  • We have no ability to read, access, or view your personal recipe library.
  • If you prefer not to use iCloud sync, you can disable it in your device's iCloud settings. Your data will remain stored only on-device.
  • Because this data is stored in your own iCloud account and is inaccessible to us, it is not considered "collected" data and does not appear on Chaser's App Store Privacy Nutrition Label.

3. In-App Purchases

Chaser may offer in-app purchases to unlock additional features or content. All transactions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store.

  • We never receive your payment card details or billing information.
  • Apple handles all purchase processing in accordance with Apple's own privacy policy.
  • Your device stores a local purchase receipt, which Chaser reads solely to determine which features you have unlocked. This receipt is not transmitted to us.
  • For questions about payment data, please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy at apple.com/legal/privacy.

4. On-Device AI Features (Apple Intelligence)

Chaser may use Apple Intelligence features powered by Apple's FoundationModels framework to enhance your experience — for example, to help parse and import recipes.

These AI features run entirely on your device. No text, queries, photos, or other inputs are sent to our servers or to any third-party AI service as a result of your use of these features. All processing occurs locally using Apple's on-device models.

5. Crash Reports and Diagnostics

If you have opted in to "Share with App Developers" in your iPhone's Settings (under Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements), Apple may automatically send anonymized crash reports to us when the app unexpectedly closes.

These crash reports may include:

  • The type and version of your device
  • Your iOS version
  • The version of Chaser installed
  • A technical stack trace describing what the app was doing at the time of the crash

Crash reports do not include your name, Apple ID, location, or any personal content from within the app. We use this information only to identify and fix bugs. This data is provided to us by Apple and is not linked to your identity.

This is the only category of data listed on Chaser's App Store Privacy Nutrition Label.

6. System Logging

Chaser uses Apple's OSLog framework to write diagnostic messages to your device's local system log. This is a standard iOS development practice used for debugging.

Log data never leaves your device under normal operation.

Logs may be visible to you or a developer if your device is physically connected to a Mac running Xcode, with your explicit trust granted.

No log data is transmitted to us automatically.

7. Third-Party Services

Chaser does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or data-sharing services. There are no SDKs from companies such as Google, Meta, or any data broker embedded in the app.

The only external services involved are Apple's own frameworks (CloudKit, StoreKit, FoundationModels, and standard iOS diagnostics), which are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

8. Children's Privacy

Chaser does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Because we do not collect personal data from any users, no special handling for children is required.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this document and post the updated policy on our website and/or within the App Store listing. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Continued use of Chaser after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
